Description The Sample Reception Project Manager will provide the main point of contact for customers dropping off samples at Sample Reception and receive all client submissions. Skills:
Responsibilities
o Main point of contact to liaise between Sample Reception and Customer Service.
o Review the Chain of Custody (COC) for completeness and evaluate for the presence of COC related FLAGs prior to accepting custody of the samples.
o Proactively reduce the number of FLAGs by resolving them during client drop-off and communicating suggestions for decreasing the amount of FLAGs a client receives.
o Provides clients with accurate, consistent and timely information, consulting with appropriate resources when required as it relates to local regulations, TAT, bottle requirements, operational inquiries, FLAGs, and Maxxam procedures.
o Identify irregular submissions or those requiring special handling and work with Operations/Scientific Services to determine how samples should be logged into LIMS and analyzed.
o Expedite on-the-spot rush bottle orders.
o Verify and sign-off on subcontracting paperwork, Detection Limits, parameters and pricing.
Skills and Knowledge
Knowledge:
o University degree, preferably in chemistry or environmental related and/or equivalent experience – 5 years
o Complete bilingualism – French and English
o Excellent communication skills
o Excellent Customer service and problem solving skills
o Sense of responsibility and urgency
o Detail oriented
o Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple tasks

The project manager contributes, through the personalized service he/she provides, to the quality service offered to the clients and thus to the organization’s objectives. Acting as the intermediary between the clients and the laboratory, the Project Manager ensures the satisfaction of the clients in regards to the services offered. The project manager is the key client relation contact that is critical to development of true client loyalty.
Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintenance and development of client accounts;

Key liaison between the client, the laboratory, and senior Maxxam management;

Respond to all client call (telephone or email) within one hour of reception time, redirect calls or emails to PMA so as to meet this objective;

Develop client relations through the provision of top notch client services;

Provide clients with technical support on their varied sampling projects;
-
Assist clients with the provision of data interpretive support;
-
Provide consultation, recommendations, and technical assistance to clients;

Stay current on all Application and interpretation of environmental regulations;

Document and get closure to all client complaints, CARS;

Assist the sales team with active participation in development and execution of the regional sales strategies;

Assist the sales team with active participation in all quotation review, and RFP generation;
-
Development of actual and potential clients through active participation in new account identification, and regular account reviews of all actual clients;

Work in conjunction with the client to coordinate all related project requirements;
-
Facilitate communication between clients and other laboratory departments;
-
Assist with the preparation of correspondence and reports for technical analytical data review, marketing information, and other related documentation;

Act as an ambassador of Maxxam.
Knowledge:
B. Sc.or its equivalence with at least (3-5) years experience in the environmental laboratory industry;
Must have basic chemistry knowledge for application in a laboratory setting;
Skills:
Essential: Bilingual, oral and written
Qualities: interpersonal communication, detail-oriented, organization, autonomous, abilities to focus, sense of urgency, multitasking, sociable.
Must be responsible, independent, dedicated, motivated with a good sense of team spirit.

DESCRIPTION:
· Perform Analyses on samples using ICP-MS and carry out complex sample preparation;
· Ensure that instruments and equipment are appropriately maintained;
· Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure accuracy and quality of work;
· Ensure that quality control criteria are met for all reported data;
· Approve data generated (Level I validation) for which the analyst has been trained and validated;
· If required Level II data validation;
· Provide input to corrective action procedures;
· Recommend SOP revisions;
· Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations;
· Contribute to daily and weekly planning of their own work and of the department;
· Coordination of laboratory projects;
· Existing method implementation and validation;
· SOP writing;
· Questioning results;
· Other responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS [Minimum Requirements]:
· Post secondary education in Science from an approved institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and one year experience in a related area of testing.
· Member of or eligible to OCQ
· Make overtime on request.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Good record keeping skills and attention to detail.
