Recognition for Analytical Chemistry Contribution and Achievement
Wednesday May 30, 2012 (Calgary, Alberta). As part of the Canadian Chemistry Conference & Exhibition (CSC2012), Fred Hutchings, Maxxam’s Senior Vice President – Petroleum Services, presented the 13th Annual Maxxam Award to Dr. Pierre Thibault, Canada Research Chair in Proteomics and Bioanalytical Spectrometry at the University of Montreal.
The Maxxam Award is presented annually and acknowledges a scientist residing in Canada, who has made a distinguished contribution to the field of analytical chemistry while working in Canada. Those in government, industry and academia are eligible candidates on a rotating basis. The selection committee includes the CSC Director of Awards, the past two winners of the Maxxam Award and the Chair of the Analytical Chemistry division of the CSC.
Previous winners include: Dr. X. Chris Le (2011) and Dr. Liang Li (2009), University of Alberta and Dr. Eric Reiner (2010), Ontario Ministry of the Environment.
