The Weyburn Oil Show Board is a volunteer organization formed in the fall of 1984 to sponsor and promote a biennial oil and gas industry trade show in Weyburn. The purpose was to provide an opportunity for the service and supply segment of the industry to show and display their wares and latest technology applicable to the oil and gas industry.

2013 Soil Vapour Seminar

Maxxam is pleased to host the 2013 Ontario Soil Vapour Seminar featuring special guest speaker: Ian Hers, Ph.D. from Golder Associates.

Dr. Hers is the principal author of the Ontario Draft Soil Vapour Guidance (2010) and will take us through a half-day session that will help to demystify the MOE’s expectations of best practices, in conjunction with a detailed review of how the Guidance was developed, its intended use and how it is being used. The presentation will be followed by demonstrations of vapour sampling train assembly and a helium shroud and leak tracer.

Environmental consultants, hydrogeologists, Phase II assessors, building scientists, environmental lawyers, site owners and developers.

EnviroAnalysis Conference

It is expected to attract approximately 250 -300 chemists and chemical technologists from chemical production, pulp and paper, energy and food processing and other sectors. This is the first year that CIC is organizing the event and Maxxam is involved as part of our overall support of CIC and commitment to advancing science.

Cdn Chemical Engineering Conference

Maxxam is pleased to sponsor the 63rd Annual CsChE conference in Fredericton, NB. The main themes of this year’s conference are Resources, Environment and Energy, which are critical issues faced by chemical engineers both in Canada and around the world. Symposia/sessions are being planned on the following topics: Forest Biorefinery, Nanotechnology, Catalytic Technologies for Clean and Green Fuels, Emerging Technologies in Lignocellulosic Products and Materials, Nuclear Technology, Adsorption and Membrane Separation, Oil and Gas, Waste Water Treatment and Environment, and Process Safety and Management, all of which will be organized by multinational committees of experts in each field.

Regular programs in all aspects of chemical engineering are also planned by the CSChE Subject Divisions. An undergraduate program is being organized by our student committee to showcase the student contributions and to promote exchange of ideas for our young and bright chemical engineers.
