Appreciation is in the air at Maxxam once again with the announcement of this year’s winners of the company’s annual employee Values Awards.
Twelve individuals, who are truly role models from across the company, were chosen from over 170 nominations. Winners were honoured at town hall meetings across the country where staff joined together to formally recognize the people they have chosen who best represent the Maxxam values of innovation, integrity, collaboration and performance. The awards were presented by President and CEO Jon Hantho.
“What makes these awards particularly special is that they genuinely involve all employees who see and recognize excellence in their colleagues and allow them to share it with the entire company by nominating them,” said Jon. “I personally think it’s a credit to the more than 2,000 people that work at Maxxam that their peers take the time to appreciate them by nominating them for the Values Awards.”
In addition to receiving public recognition and a commemorative trophy, Value Award winners receive an extra week of paid vacation as well as a $4,000 travel allowance. The awards, which are only given once in an employee’s career at Maxxam, began in 2003. To date they have been given to 75 outstanding individuals.
Jon added, “I wholeheartedly believe that it is the people of Maxxam that make this company what it is. Our customers know that great people do great work and that’s what has made us an industry leader.”
