International Award for Outstanding Contributions to Horse Racing Chemistry goes to Maxxam Analytics’ Barbara Morrissey

October 6, 2014. Mississauga, Ontario. Barbara Morrissey, Maxxam’s long-time Director of Forensic Equine Drug Testing, is the 2014 recipient of the most prestigious award in horse racing chemistry.

Presented by the Association of Official Racing Chemists (AORC) at the International Conference of Racing Analysts and Veterinarians held in Mauritius, Africa, the award recognizes outstanding contributions to horse racing chemistry and significant service to the AORC.

“With this award, Barbara joins the exclusive ranks of truly exceptional scientists and contributors in the field of equine doping control.” says Jon Hantho, Maxxam’s President & CEO. “We are extremely proud of her for being recognized by the industry she has passionately served for many years.”

A delegation of Maxxam scientists was in attendance at the conference and gave presentations on research projects regarding industry developments and scientific discoveries concerning the detection of drugs in equine biological matrices.
