Calgary, June 6, 2008 – ECO Canada today announced the election of three new members to its Board of Directors.

  • William (Bill) Borland is Vice President of Canadian Federal Programs at AMEC Earth and Environmental. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Water Network and sits on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Rivers Institute and the Research and Productivity Council of New Brunswick. He has been appointed to both the Premier’s Round Table on Environment and the Economy in New Brunswick and the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (NRTEE).
  • Robert Dubé is President at Atout Personnel. He has more than 25 years of experience as a senior executive in the public and private sectors. From 2003 to 2006, he served as the head of VAL-CHUM, the organization responsible for implementing a structure to optimize the use and commercialization of research at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM). From 2000 to 2002, he was CEO of Les Systemes Bioflo Inc., commercializing a biotech water treatment technology. His previous experience included several years with Environment Canada, in the roles including Executive Director of Biosphere de Montreal, Director of Environmental Protection, and Senior Advisor to the Minister of the Environment Jean Charest in 1992, where he played an active role in the Rio summit as well as in the Canadian Green Plan. He is also a member of the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (NRTEE).
  • Jon Hantho is CEO of Maxxam Analytics Inc. He has extensive executive management experience and a proven track record for delivering customer and shareholder value. He began his career at Moore Corporation where he developed new transformational business models to drive dramatic growth and customer satisfaction. His experience in the areas of corporate strategy development, mergers and acquisitions, and customer service development are key attributes that he brings to ECO Canada’s Board of Directors.

“This is great news. I believe that each of the newly elected members understands the importance of building a strong foundation for Canada’s environment industry and they bring significance experience to the Board,” said Hubert Bourque, Board Chair.

Grant Trump, President and CEO of ECO Canada, equally welcomed the election outcome.

“These three new Board members are a tremendous addition to ECO Canada’s Board of Directors,” said Trump. “Their strong business acumen combined with a demonstrated commitment to human resource issues in a sector that’s growing 23% faster than the Canadian economy will positively impact ECO Canada and its contributions to the environmental sector in the years ahead.”

ECO Canada’s nationally balanced Board of Directors consists of 18 members. The role of the board is to provide strategic and operational advice to ECO Canada in the development of national environmental labour market solutions. All members of ECO’s Board of Directors are elected to three-year terms.
