Industry and Private Individuals
Using forensic biology and DNA analyses, we assist law enforcement agencies in the resolution of cases of all types: homicide, sexual assault, physical assault, break and enter, motor vehicle accidents and more. As the most experienced private DNA testing laboratory in Canada, Maxxam has worked directly with more than 350 police agencies across the country. Maxxam is often asked by police agencies to attempt to generate DNA profiles from DNA extracts generated at other forensic laboratories where the extract falls below the threshold of that laboratory. We have been able to generate useful DNA profiles from some of these DNA extracts. To date As of August 2018, Maxxam has reported over 15000 criminal DNA cases, has testified as an expert witness in over 230 cases and has submitted more than 6400 profiles to CODIS (the National DNA Data Bank).
Since 2001, Maxxam has been the sole provider of forensic biology and DNA casework services to the RCMP Forensic Science & Identification Service (FSIS) under a Standing Offer contract. The awarding of this contract to Maxxam for each consecutive term is a testament to the expertise of our scientific staff, the continued quality of the work performed and the experience of our customer service team.
