Toxicity Evaluation

Environmental toxicity evaluations, in combination with chemical analyses provide an invaluable tool in determining process change on a discharge as well as providing insight on potential adverse effects.

Regulatory requirements will often call for the monitoring of discharges for toxicity. Environmental toxicity screening provides an overall picture on whether effluent poses a risk to the environment without specifically identifying or quantifying the contaminant.

Changes in industrial processes can result in toxic substances being produced. These substances are often difficult to characterize and determine where in the process they were created. Maxxam’s unique expertise in chemical, environmental toxicity testing and laboratory procedures, together with the client’s knowledge of the industrial process allows us to quickly and cost effectively identify the cause of increased toxicity and suggest reduction strategies.
