State-of-the-art Food Science and Safety Laboratory confirms Maxxam’s long-term commitment to the Food industry
Mississauga, ON. June 3, 2015. On May 17th, Maxxam Analytics opened the doors to its state-of-the art,
28,000 sqf Food Science and Safety Laboratory in Mississauga. The new facility is the largest commercial laboratory of its kind in Canada and one of the biggest in North America.
“We created a fit-for-purpose facility that allows us to grow with the demands of the rapidly changing food testing landscape”, says Jon Hantho, Maxxam’s President & CEO. “As the breadth of testing required by our customers continues to expand, and the testing itself becomes more and more complex, we want to make sure that we can meet and exceed those demands in the most efficient ways possible, while maintaining excellence in both quality and service.”
The Food Science and Safety Laboratory is home to over 150 dedicated employees, including food microbiologists, scientific specialists, sample management staff, analysts, laboratory technicians, customer service representatives and sales staff. The unique workflow design and new equipment for this facility reflect the highest standards of sample segregation, process efficiencies and analytical performance. Additionally, the laboratory was built with minimum environmental impact and occupant comfort in mind, creating an exceptional workspace to continue to attract an industry-leading workforce.
